Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon rice syrup
2 teaspoons whole aniseed
½ teaspoon black pepper
4 carrots sliced on the diagonal
Methodology
Place oil, rice syrup, aniseeds & pepper in a large saucepan & stir over a gentle heat until the rice syrup melts & blends with the oil. Add carrots & lightly coat carrots in the mixture. Cook gently with the lid on for 15-20 minutes, or until tender. Serve with beans & rice, or other dishes.
